VOLUNTEER

We need your help! We have jobs for volunteers of all ages.
Look below for different volunteering options or contact us.
Gardening
People needed to help weed, water, harvest and take care of our garden.

Throughout the entire growing season we will need help weeding, watering and harvesting our gardens. You can help! Contact us to sign up and "own a week" during the growing season. In this process you will be involved in every aspect of the garden for your designated week - on your schedule.  This is about a 2-3 hour commitment and can be done as your schedule allows and is great for kids to see how vegetables grow!  No special knowledge or experience is needed.  Click the link below if you would like to pick a week to volunteer.

Collecting
Help out at the Pleasantville Farmers Market by collecting leftover vegetables to bring to the pantry.

The generous farmers at the Pleasantville Farmers Market have their donations ready for us at the end of the market every Saturday. These volunteers stop by the participating vendors and collect any vegetables that the vendors are able to donate. This opportunity takes about 30 minutes on Saturday at 12:45pm - as the market is ending.

If you are interested in going to the market and helping to collect food, send an email to our Volunteer Manager Nora at pcgvolunteersteam@gmail.com

Transporting
Volunteers needed to drive vegetables to the pantry.

We need help driving our vegetables from the garden and the Farmers Market to the food pantry. Every Saturday we gather up all of the food collected from all sources, pack it up and bring it to our drop off point. Contact us to learn more and see if you have a weekend free to help out. This is a 1-1.5 hour commitment per week.

Management Opportunities
Opt to help support the inner core of the garden.

The Pleasantville Community Garden has many opportunities for people with related skills to help manage the project.  We need help writing communications, posting on social media, helping with fundraisers, managing volunteers and reaching out to local groups and organizations.  If you have skills and would like to help us manage this growing organization - please reach out to Beth at pvillegarden10570@gmail.com.
