VOLUNTEER WITH PCG!
Management Opportunities
We are actively seeking a Veggie Driver/Hauler Coordinator.
PCG has established a unique partnership with the Pville Farmers Market. Each Saturday, our team of student veggie haulers gather donated produce and our volunteer drivers deliver it to Hillside Food Outreach.
Our current coordinator is stepping away in August. Can you help?

The Pleasantville Community Garden (PCG) is seeking two people to share the role of Veggie Driver Co-Managers. This role oversees the Veggie Driver effort, which is a weekly program where volunteers collect excess produce from vendors at the Pleasantville Farmers Market and deliver it to Hillside Food Pantry in Mount Kisco. The role requires 1-2 hours per week.

Transporting
Volunteers needed to drive vegetables to the pantry.
We need help driving our vegetables from the garden and the Farmers Market to the food pantry. Every Saturday we gather up all of the food collected from all sources, pack it up and bring it to our drop off point. Contact us to learn more and see if you have a weekend free to help out. This is a 1-1.5 hour commitment per week.

Collecting
Help out at the Pleasantville Farmers Market by collecting leftover vegetables to bring to the pantry.
The generous farmers at the Pleasantville Farmers Market have their donations ready for us at the end of the market every Saturday. These volunteers stop by the participating vendors and collect any vegetables that the vendors are able to donate. This opportunity takes about 30 minutes on Saturday at 12:45pm - as the market is ending.
If you are interested in going to the market and helping to collect food, send an email to our Volunteer Manager Nora at pcgveggiedrivers@gmail.com
Gardening
People needed to help weed, water, harvest and take care of our garden.
Throughout the entire growing season we will need help weeding, watering and harvesting our gardens. You can help! Contact us to sign up and "own a week" during the growing season. In this process you will be involved in every aspect of the garden for your designated week - on your schedule. This is about a 2-3 hour commitment and can be done as your schedule allows and is great for kids to see how vegetables grow! No special knowledge or experience is needed. Click the link below if you would like to pick a week to volunteer.
