PCG Gratitude Blog: the Season of Growing, Sharing & Receiving from our friends at The Second Mouse.

pvillegarden19

With the PCG garden now happily put to bed for the season, it’s great to have some time to reflect upon all of the wonderful support we’ve received from our community this summer.

In addition to the amazing volunteers we work with and our generous farmers at the weekly market, we have been so fortunate to be sponsored by our friends at the Second Mouse Cheese Shop here in Pleasantville.

In addition to a huge range of cheeses and beautiful charcuterie boards, the Second Mouse makes the most delicious and healthy soups! All summer long, PCG received 10% of their gazpacho soup sales. Now as we transition into the fall, we will also benefit from all of their butternut squash soup sales.

The Second Mouse also provided us with a bounty of cheeses, dried fruits, bruschetta, charcuterie boards and other delights at our spring fundraising event, which was held at St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Their soup donations have allowed us to purchase new equipment as well as products for the garden and helped us to expand our email platform. To say that we are grateful for their generosity and support would be an understatement.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner and the winter holidays ahead, we're happy to share a delicious seasonal recipe that we know you'll enjoy, from a cookbook edited by none other than Ivy Ronquillo, owner of the Second Mouse!

We encourage all of our members and neighbors to shop local and support the businesses that support our community, so stop in and say hello and give a BIG thank you to Ivy and her team … and buy some soup!
