Supporting our Partners on Giving Tuesday

By the time you get this blog post we’re pretty sure you’ve been bombarded with dozens of email donation requests. Same here!

While Giving Tuesday is a worthwhile effort, it’s often hard to decide who and how to help when there is so much need. We also know that people are struggling to provide for their own families, so making a financial donation at this time isn’t an option.

Well, we have GOOD NEWS!! There are many ways to give on Giving Tuesday.

The Pleasantville Community Garden works throughout the year primarily to support three local non-profits: Neighbors Link, Hillside Food Outreach and the Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry of Pleasantvillle. While our core mission is to end food insecurity, these organizations work tirelessly to meet the needs of those who are food insecure in many ways.

For example, Neighbors Link in Mt. Kisco is currently collecting used winter boots for many of the individuals they work with who tend to work outside. Hillside is always in need of volunteers who can deliver food locally to individuals who tend to be elderly or ill, while the P'ville Food Pantry can never get enough of those huge Fresh Direct bags.

So while financial donations are always appreciated, please consider other ways you can give on Giving Tuesday. We’ve shared below links to their web sites and hope you’ll celebrate the season of giving by helping our community partners who help so many all year round.

Wishing all of you and our wonderful volunteers, generous farmers and amazing small business partner (The Second Mouse Cheese Shop) a very happy holiday and a healthy new year.

See you in the garden this spring.

The PCG Team
